35.69 miles, total climb 3,644ft, average speed 12.8mph

Alan has been talking about a ride in the Shawangunks Mountains all summer and it was looking like we wouldn’t be able to find a suitable date before the season made it too cold to enjoy.  How happy am I that we managed to fit this in though.

Staggeringly beautiful from start to finish with the wonderful treat of the Mohonk Mountain House towards the end of the ride.

This was one of the shorter rides that I’ve done all summer but was certainly challenging with the climbs of the two mountains but I wouldn’t change a thing as it was one of the nicest days of the year.

Thanks to Alan for scouting the route, Joe & Vero for driving and of course Lisa, Jess & Kim for the company.

Next up, the New York Cycle Club’s Escape New York Century.
